Compared to the last year, the New Crop amount declined due to the hard weather conditions, storms and heavy rains, pest and diseases. Concretely it affects on 12.000 hectares.
For the new crop, according to the Vietnamese Pepper Association, the prices will go down. This means that the price lost his value by a 70% in just 3 years. The main reason for this price decline is the increasing of the plantation areas of Vietnam and all the other countries, than Brazil, Indonesia, Sri-Lanka, India, Madagascar, etc.
However in March, so soon the New Crop of the Vietnamese Black Pepper is available, we will see how the market, qualities, and prices will evolve.
